CHANGE BRAKE PRESSURE SENSOR (G201 and G214)

G201 and G214 sensors are responsible for measuring the braking force necessary information for the management of the preload.

The two sensors are equal and have the same function. The fact that installing two is designed to offer the highest levels of seguridad.Se is a redundant system.

In case one of them is broken, or has a cut or poor contact with the wiring, the ESP system is disabled, and displays the ESP indicator in the instrument cluster.

In my case, the errors stored in the unit were:

Address 03 ---------- -------------------------------------- -------
Controller: 8N0 907 379 J
Component: ESP FRONT MK60 0101
Coding: 0019469
Shop #: WSC 01236
Found 3 fault:
01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit - Intermittent
01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201)
008 - implausible Signal - Intermittent
00810 - Sensor 1/2 for Brake Pressure
008 - implausible Signal - Intermittent

For safety, two sensors were changed: G201 and G214.

MATERIAL

The reference number of the sensor (both are equal):

BRAKE PRESSURE SENSOR (G201 and G214) 1JN 907 597 B

In my case, was used to change the brake fluid.

BRAKE FLUID: Necto DOT 4

Most of these parts can be found on-line stores on the internet, such as : Oscaro

The operation was performed in Autotallers Asensi in Montcada i Reixac (you can visit the workshop website by clicking here ).

PROCEDURE

Once located the car in the place where it is performed, proceed to remove the engine protection, along with the air filter box, to access the sensors.

We see where the sensors are located, bolted to the brake master cylinder.

Drain the brake fluid, and protect the bottom of the master cylinder, to prevent soiling unscrewing the sensors, with the remains of liquid remaining.

See old sensors along with one of the new.

We shall place the new sensors, screwing the master cylinder on the site of the old, and then we can replace the air filter box.

The next step is to fill the brake fluid reservoir and bleed the system.

To perform this operation the wheels were removed, as they took the opportunity to swap wheels (pass front to back, and vice versa), since wear that had indicated that it was the right time.

By making the trade was revised balancing the 4 tires.

It uses a liquid suction pump to remove the remains of the old brake fluid and air from the circuit.

Finally performing a traditional brake bleeder (pressing the brake pedal) to finish out the rest of air that can be in the system.

Finally, put the wheels and just mount the motor protection.

The only thing left is to delete the exchange errors (eg with cable VAG-COM program, see the section VAG-COM).

It inidicar that there is a basic setting procedure G201 sensor, for the case where the pressure values are not correct and necessary "calibrate." In this case, an error will appear in the control panel and indicator lights ESP in the instrument cluster indicandolo.See more information on the website of Ross-Tech: Error due to lack of basic setting and basic setting procedure .

In my case it was not necessary to the basic setting.
